Good discussion but a little surprised you didn't discuss illinois and its problems, which are really just a fiscal black hole dragging chicago down. Of course chicago is to blame, and the city is losing a lot more people than other cities. You can't really compare it, it's quite bad here. Nobody is thrilled about the city anymore. I guess it was refreshing to hear a semi-optimist take on things but I'm not sure I'm buying it.
Also, could be because of my neighborhood but if you're conservative here plan on feeling totally alienated by the environment and most of the people you meet.
